Dr. Geni Abraham

Dr. Geni Abraham

I have always wanted to be a doctor. I liked the idea of looking after patients and make a difference in their lives by removing their illnesses. As a Physician I have evolved in my career. I started out working for the Indian Health Service in Oklahoma where I learned to be the Internist I want to be with a good understanding of how to be a cardiologist, endocrinologist, rheumatologist and a whole host of other specialties out of sheer need. For my patients I was those “specialists” until I could no longer manage them and I had to ship them 100 miles away. This experience helped me to understand who is the right person that can help me to bring a patient to wellness if my help is not sufficient. It is important to understand what is the right kind of help a patient needs. That is my JOB.

From there I moved to Palm Beach County where I first worked for many years as a Hospitalist and then returned to my first love which is office based medicine. In the last few years as I recognized that patients weren’t feeling better just because I gave them medications I explored what else I can do. In that process our office transformed into a wellness focused office. We help patients develop healthy nutritional habits with a “FOOD IS MEDICINE” focus, encourage exercise that they enjoy, work on stress management and sleep hygiene. Turns out these measures are going to promote health and wellness and prevent disease. This INTEGRATED approach helped patients overall feel healthier, energetic and able to meet the challenges that they must in today’s stressful society. It is also what is going to reduce our overall health care costs in the future.

I am happy to discuss this type of traditional Internal Medicine practice with anyone who comes.
